DONATION INFORMATION
Artifact Donations & Purchases
We thank you for your interest in donating an artifact to The Furious Fourth. While we wish that we could accept all items, the group seeks only specific items pertaining to the Second World War. Therefore, we appreciate your understanding and willingness to work with us.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What kind of things do you accept?
We accept items directly related to the Second World War and particularly artifacts dealing with the American experience in the conflict. These include uniforms, equipment, war trophies, documents, photos, letters, and more. Items with documentation, provenance, or personal stories behind them are especially welcomed. That information will be used to tell an artifact's story to the public.
How are the artifacts used?
Whenever possible, depending upon the venue and theme of an event, we rotate items during public living history programs. An artifact is chosen for exhibition based on its relevance to the display, its condition, and the item’s space/display/security needs. Our collection is too large to display everything at once. As owner of the donated artifact, the Furious Fourth reserves the right to use an artifact in any manner that it sees fit. The artifact may be used for exhibit display, hands-on educational activities, or kept in storage for research purposes. At the discretion of the members, the artifact may be photographed or copied for research or promotional purposes.
Can I have it back later on?
We do not accept permanent loans. When an item is donated, the Furious Fourth receives full title.
Is this type of donation tax deductible?
It is possible. We recommend that you consult with a tax professional. The Furious Fourth is filed as an educational Unincorporated Non-Profit Association with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Furious Fourth legally cannot provide valuations or appraisals to determine the value of an artifact.
Can I sell the Association an item(s)?
Our membership has on occasion pooled resources to purchase substantial artifacts or bulk collections for our public displays and demonstrations. Please contact with further questions or proposals.
How do I donate an item(s)?
The important first step is to contact us with photos and descriptive information so we may assess the pertinence of the artifacts to our mission and historical impressions. Please do not send us items without first contacting us. If the membership wishes to accession your item into the collection, we will pursue the process by sending you the appropriate documents and details. Thank you for your interest!
How do I contact the Furious Fourth?

Can I make a financial donation to support your mission?
